No matter how bad this turns out, I’ll still eat it.
What my dad just (kindly?) said to me after watching me attempt my first recipe in my crockpot, a Christmas present for when I’m living in an apartment next semester. I just don’t have a natural knack for cooking. I want to learn, though!
I’m trying a bean dip: I tripled a recipe meant for a smaller crockpot, used regular canned black beans instead of refried black beans, loosely and probably poorly estimated how much crushed garlic equals a clove of garlic, used lemon instead of lime, and substituted feta cheese for the goat cheese that was called for. It is smelling funky. We’ll see.
My real mistake was starting a slow-cooker recipe at 10:45 at night. It’s supposed to be done in just a few hours…
